I just installed Batch but I don't see it on Google Photos.

Refresh any Google Photos tabs you had open before installing. Chrome extensions don't activate on tabs that were already open. Then select two or more photos in your library or an album you own, and the Batch button appears next to Share. If it's still not there, check that Batch is enabled at chrome://extensions and that you're on photos.google.com.

Why is the Batch button not appearing on my selection?

The button appears once you've selected two or more photos in a library or album you own. It won't show up if you've only selected one photo, you're viewing a single photo instead of the grid, or you're inside a shared album where you don't own the photos.

Question 3

Why does Batch need permission to access photos.google.com?

Accepted Answer

Because Batch works by automating Google Photos directly, clicking the same Edit, Save, and filter buttons you would. Chrome requires permission to interact with the page to do that. Batch only runs on photos.google.com. It can't see or access any other site you visit, and no data leaves your browser.

Does Batch send my photos anywhere, delete anything, or change things I didn't ask for?

Accepted Answer

No. Every edit happens inside Google Photos using the same tools you use manually, and Batch just automates the clicks. Your photos never leave your browser, we don't upload them, and we don't run a server that processes or stores any photo content. The only changes Batch makes are the specific edits you chose, on the photos you selected. Nothing else is modified. Google Photos handles the saves the same way it does when you edit by hand, so there's no risk of corrupting your library.

Why did Batch only edit some of the photos I selected?

Batch automatically skips photos it can't edit: Videos. Google Photos doesn't support the same edits on video. Photos shared with you. You can only edit photos you own. Photos beyond your monthly quota or per-batch cap for your plan. You'll see a breakdown of processed and skipped photos at the end of each run. Skipped photos are never modified.

Question 6

Will Add Description replace my existing descriptions?

Only if you choose Replace mode. There are two: Append (default). Adds your text to the existing description on a new line. Anything already there stays. Replace. Overwrites whatever's there with your new text. Pick the mode in the Add Description screen before starting the batch.

Question 7

Can I close the tab or step away while a batch runs?

Accepted Answer

You can switch tabs, use other apps, or lock your screen. Batch keeps running. Don't close the Photos tab during a batch though, since closing it stops the run. If you do close it, or your computer goes to sleep, Batch saves your progress and offers to resume when you return, for up to 48 hours.

Can I pause or cancel a running batch?

Yes. Pause stops Batch after the current photo finishes; click Resume to continue. Cancel stops the run entirely. Photos already edited stay edited (Batch saves each one as it goes), and the rest are untouched. There's no global "undo all" button. If you want to roll back edits Batch already saved, use Revert to Original (Pro) on those photos.

A few photos in my batch don't look edited. What happened?

Re-select those photos and run Batch again. Re-running on already-edited photos is safe and won't double-apply. The cause is usually that Google Photos accepted the edit but didn't finish saving it, which can happen on slow connections, very large files, or photos with motion (sometimes called Live Photos on iPhone). Batch can't always detect when a save silently fails, so the simplest fix is to re-run on just the affected photos.

Can I undo a batch?

Revert to Original (Pro) restores any photo to the version Google Photos saved before any edits were applied. Select the photos you want to revert, click Batch, then Revert to Original. Two things to know: It's per-photo. There's no single "undo my last batch" button. It reverts to the original file, which means any manual edits you made by hand before using Batch will also be undone. If you want to keep your manual edits and only undo the Batch run, the safer path is to re-run the opposite edit on those photos rather than reverting.

I upgraded but the extension still shows my old plan.

Plan changes usually propagate within a minute. Close the Batch panel and reopen it to refresh. If the panel still shows the old plan after five minutes, email support@batchphotoedit.com with the email address you used to purchase, and we'll fix it within one business day.

Question 12

How do I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Open the plan footer in the Batch panel, click Manage billing, and cancel from the Stripe portal. Your access stays active until the end of the current billing period, and you won't be charged again. Switching monthly and annual: use Manage billing on the same screen. Stripe prorates the difference automatically.
